Central Intelligence Agency (US Gov) World Fact Book 

The World Fact Book provides information on the history, people, government, economy, energy, geography, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues for 267 world entities. 

Department of Agriculture (US Gov)

The Economic Research Service provides key indicators, outlook analysis, and a wealth of data on the U.S. food and agricultural system. Along with information on farming practices, structure, and performance, ERS produces data on such diverse topics as farm and rural households, commodity markets, food marketing, agricultural trade, diet and health, food safety, food and nutrition assistance programs, natural resources and the environment, and the rural economy.

UN Comtrade Database

Free access to detailed global trade data. UN Comtrade is a repository of official international trade statistics and relevant analytical tables.

The Economist

The research and analysis division of The Economist Group, the sister company to The Economist newspaper. They assist businesses, financial firms and governments to understand how the world is changing and how that creates opportunities to be seized and risks to be managed.
